Nonin Medical Announces New USB Data Transfer Device for its Handheld Oximeter Lines

Nonin Medical, Inc., a leading innovator of noninvasive physiological monitoring solutions, introduced last week a USB adapter (the 1000USB) for fast and secure download of patient vital sign data from any Nonin handheld oximeter. The latest innovation from Nonin, the 1000USB adapter is a convenient alternative to traditional serial data connections by enabling a simple connection between the oximeter and USB port of a receiving device such as a personal computer (PC).

Designed to securely transfer patient pulse oximetry (SpO2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) measurements, Nonin Medical’s 1000USB adapter contains three interface ports for simple connection between any Nonin handheld oximeter, patient sensor and receiving device. An ideal solution for sleep applications, the 1000USB is capable of transferring data in real time or from device memory for easy upload to Nonin’s nVISION® data management software. A low-power solution, the 1000USB does not drain power from the connected oximeter and therefore won’t impact battery life.

Soon to be available in two versions, a Continua™ Certified version of Nonin Medical’s 1000USB adapter (the 1000USB-C) will be available for OEM system developers later this year.
