How does Nonin Shield device coverage work?
The optional Nonin Shield protection plan is an addition to—not a replacement of—the Nonin manufacturer warranty, which remains the same. Nonin Shield runs concurrently with the manufacturer warranty and will extend coverage (repair or replacement) to damage caused by accident, abuse, liquid ingress, or particulate contamination at no additional cost, subject to the terms and conditions listed below.
How do I purchase this coverage plan?
To purchase Nonin Shield™ for eligible products, contact your local sales representative or call Nonin customer service within 30 days of product purchase.

What are the plan’s conditions?
Nonin reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to determine whether repair or replacement of your covered product is most appropriate. If a replacement product is needed, we reserve the right to replace your covered product with a comparable product of like kind and quality. In that case, the manufacturer warranty for the replacement product will run concurrently with the original warranty; and the Nonin Shield protection plan will be transferred to the replacement product for the duration of the original plan. The customer is responsible for costs of shipping products to and from Nonin Medical.
What are the exclusions?
This plan does not cover the following:
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications, or any damage they may result in
- Repairs to cosmetic parts or repairs that are due to deterioration of the appearance or finish of the product
- Components not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty of the covered products
- Cleaning or regular maintenance
- Product with removed or altered serial numbers
- Replacement of disposable batteries or sensors
- Loss of use while the product is being repaired or awaiting parts
- Loss, theft, or damage caused by environmental conditions
- Improper use of the electrical power supply
What if a product requires repair?
U.S. customers with covered product needing a repair, not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, should call the Nonin technical service department toll-free at 1-800356-8874 for authorization before having repairs made. Technicians are available to assist Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CST).
International customers with covered product needing a repair, not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, should contact their authorized Nonin distributor.
When contacting Nonin technical service for repair, please have the following information prepared:
- Phone Number
- Product Model
- Product Serial Number
- Proof of Purchase
- Detailed description of the problem your device is experiencing
What if I return my covered product?
If a product is returned for a refund (less 20% restocking fee), the refund does not extend to the purchase of the Nonin Shield plan.
