- Medical Prescription Required: GO2
Nonin's GO2 finger pulse oximeter for personal use is a medical device
and federal law restricts these devices to sale by or on the prescription order
of a licensed clinician. You need a prescription oximeter if you are a patient working
with a doctor and need to monitor blood oxygen saturation for a chronic disease

to meet certain criteria, such as level of accuracy. (Note: GO2 is not
intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any chronic lung or other diseases.)
- No Prescription Needed: GO2 Achieve
Nonin's GO2 Achieve is not a medical device and therefore does not require
a prescription from your doctor. You can use Nonin's GO2 Achieve nonprescription
oximeter if you are a sports or fitness enthusiast interested in managing your intensity
level while exercising or training. Our non-prescription oximeters are also great
to check for the onset of in-flight hyperpoxia during air travel. GO2
